Dr. Samantha Nutt
Samantha Nutt is an award-winning humanitarian, bestselling author, and acclaimed public speaker. A medical doctor and the founder of the renowned humanitarian organizations War Child Canada and War Child USA, Dr. Nutt has worked with children and their families at the front line of many of the world’s major crises – from Iraq to Afghanistan, Somalia to the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Sierra Leone to Darfur, Sudan. Dr. Nutt is a staff physician at Women’s College Hospital in Toronto and is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Toronto. She is a Senior Fellow at Massey College, University of Toronto, and is on the board of the David Suzuki Foundation.

 

Dr. Fahad Razak
Dr. Razak is an internist at St Michael’s Hospital and Associate Professor at the University of Toronto. His research focuses on improving the care of hospitalized patients through the application of advanced analytic methods to hospital big data. He is the Director of the Ontario COVID-19 Science Advisory Table. Dr Razak has received >$30 million in grant funding and has 86 peer-reviewed publications. He co-founded the Rounds Table, a free podcast about new research in medicine that has been downloaded >400,000 times in 150 countries.

 

Dr. Charles Weijer
Charles Weijer is a Professor of Medicine and Philosophy at Western University in London, Canada. He is a leading expert in the ethics of randomized controlled trials. From 2008 to 2013 Charles co-led a collaboration that produced the first international ethics guidelines for cluster randomized trials. He led the writing team for the World Health Organization guidance on “Ethical Considerations for Health Policy and Systems Research,” published in 2019. In 2020, Charles served on the WHO Working Group for Guidance on Human Challenge Studies in COVID-19. He held the Canada Research Chair in Bioethics from 2005 to 2019, and, in 2016, Charles was elected to the Royal Society of Canada.
