Speakers Bios:
Jennifer Andrews, CEO, FreshLeaf Marketing
Jennifer Andrews is a marketing expert with a science background and an MBA passionate about simplifying the complex to grow scientific businesses. As founder and CEO of FreshLeaf Marketing, Jennifer brings 14 years of experience in the life sciences industry, including as marketing director for a natural health research and regulatory firm and senior marketing director for a medical equipment company. Jennifer’s specialties include marketing strategy, brand identity and messaging, and content creation to help clients stand out, get found, and gain more leads.
To date, she has worked with nearly 50 scientific companies and has mentored more than 70 start-ups and small businesses. Jennifer is also author of Scientist to CEO, the marketing book for businesses built by scientists. She is a sought-after speaker who has presented to hundreds of entrepreneurs on the topics of marketing strategy and digital marketing. Jennifer is also co-founder of the Life Science Growth Intensive group program, which delivers coaching and training on marketing and business development for life science companies. Additionally, she is a business mentor and industry expert through several accelerators and entrepreneurship centres across Southern Ontario, including Innovation Guelph. Jennifer holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in biology and a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in human health and nutrition from the University of Guelph, and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Lazaridis School of Business and Economics at Wilfrid Laurier University.
Sanjana Basu, Investor, Radical Ventures
Sanjana Basu is an Investor at Radical Ventures since 2019. Sanjana believes strongly in the deeply disruptive power of AI to create massive value across sectors. She focuses on technically differentiated teams building applied AI businesses across verticals and has led some of the firm’s Healthcare AI investments. She has been involved with Radical’s investments in Lisa Health, PocketHealth, Signal 1, Synex, and Ubenwa.
Before joining Radical, Sanjana invested in various deep tech and consumer tech businesses at the Venture arm of the Global Indian Conglomerate, the Tata Group. Before that, she was an Investment Banker at Barclays in Mumbai.
Born and raised in Mumbai, India, she completed her MBA from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Bangalore, and her undergraduate in Economics & International Relations from Tufts University in Boston, US.
Helen Kontozopoulos, Co-Founder and Chief Tech Evangelist, ODAIA Intelligence
Helen Kontozopoulos is the Co-Founder and Chief Tech Evangelist of ODAIA Intelligence, an Artificial Intelligence (AI)/Machine Learning (ML) company that develops technology platforms focused on enhancing sales and marketing effectiveness through dynamic targeting, micro-segmentation and actionable insights, that commercial teams in pharmaceutical companies can use to increase engagement with the most relevant healthcare providers.
With 20 years of experience in the technology space, Helen has established herself as a prominent thought leader in the North American health technology industry and startup ecosystem. Helen's primary mission is to address the disparities in AI/ML adoption within the pharmaceutical sector.
She aims to transform how pharma commercial teams work, automate data collection and planning, and ultimately get therapies to relevant patients faster in order to benefit their quality of life.
In addition to being a Co-Founder and Chief Tech Evangelist, Helen is also an adjunct professor and accomplished speaker. Helen co-founded the University of Toronto's Department of Computer Science Innovation Lab. She has taught entrepreneurship, research commercialization and startup creation. Helen still teaches part-time in the areas of product development, design, and entrepreneurship at the University of Toronto. She is a regular lecturer and has participated in over 30 panels, most notably at IEEE Women In Engineering International Leadership Summit, The Council for Continuing Pharmaceutical Education (CCPE) - Canada, Tedx, and MaRS Impact Health.

Bharat Srinivasa, Principal, Amplitude
Bharat Srinivasa is a Co-founder and Principal at Amplitude. Bharat has over 10 years of experience in creating, investing and advising biotech and pharma companies. He has been the co-founder of three companies and founding CEO for two, leveraging complex therapeutic modalities and computational biology. Prior to Amplitude, Bharat was on the investment team at the BDC Healthcare Fund, where he was involved in taking multiple companies public. Bharat started his career as a consultant in the forecasting and valuation practice at Foster Rosenblatt, an international life science consulting firm for biotech and pharma companies where he was responsible for providing business intelligence and commercial analytics and pricing & market access analysis. Bharat has a PhD in Experimental Medicine and Masters of Science in Microbiology and Immunology from McGill University.
