Guelph has one of Canada’s lowest unemployment rates, strongest housing markets, most innovative municipal governments, and competitive tax rates – all contributing to a strong, reliable, and sustainable local economy. With a population of over 140,000 and continuously growing, we have a higher-than-average educated workforce. Since 2020, Guelph has seen significant growth in the professional, scientific, and technical services sector, with 131.4 per cent increase in employment. Home to the University of Guelph and Conestoga College, Guelph is filled with innovative research centers.
