Life Sciences Ontario Welcomes Christine Elliott to Our Board of Directors and changes to the Board

We are thrilled to announce that Christine Elliott has joined the Life Sciences Ontario Board of Directors!

Christine brings exceptional leadership experience as Ontario’s former Minister of Health and Deputy Premier (2018-2022), where she skillfully guided the province’s COVID-19 pandemic response and championed transformative healthcare legislation including The People’s Health Care Act and the Connecting Care Act.

Her deep understanding of healthcare policy, governance, and patient advocacy—developed through her role as Ontario’s first Patient Ombudsman and extensive board service with organizations like Lakeridge Health Whitby Foundation and Durham Mental Health Services—will be invaluable to LSO’s mission.

Christine is currently Counsel with the Fasken Health Law group, where she continues to navigate complex healthcare challenges. Her unique blend of public service experience, legal expertise, and dedication to healthcare innovation makes her an outstanding addition to our leadership team as we work to strengthen Ontario’s life sciences ecosystem.

Please join us in welcoming Christine to the LSO family!

We are also delighted to announce that Laura Sluce and Manoj Pundit have been elevated to full directors of Life Sciences Ontario’s Board, formalizing their long-standing contributions as Treasurer and Secretary respectively.

Laura Sluce, Partner at Ernst & Young LLP, brings over 20 years of invaluable audit and business advisory experience to our organization. Her extensive expertise spans pharmaceuticals, medical devices, biotechnology, and technology sectors. As a Chartered Professional Accountant and member of the Institute of Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario, Laura has been instrumental in guiding LSO’s financial strategy. Beyond her role with us, Laura demonstrates her commitment to community leadership as Chair of the Board of Directors at the Jean Tweed Centre and past Chair of Community Living Mississauga.

Manoj Pundit, Partner of Securities and Capital at Borden Ladner Gervais, has been providing LSO with exceptional governance guidance in his Secretary role. His specialized expertise advising clients in technology and emerging growth sectors, combined with his experience leading complex domestic and international transactions, continues to be an incredible asset to our organization as we navigate the evolving life sciences landscape.

Both Laura and Manoj exemplify the dedication and specialized expertise that drives LSO forward. Please join us in congratulating them!
