Statement on 2018 Provincial Budget

Life Sciences Ontario welcomes the provincial budget released yesterday, including key investments in post-secondary education, healthcare system innovation, and leveraging our ability to attract and retain investment in Ontario’s life sciences sector.

The provincial government’s commitment of $50 million for a dedicated life sciences venture fund demonstrates this recognition of our sector as a primary engine for economic sustainability and growth.

We look forward to working with all parties to continue building Ontario’s life sciences sector and to encourage the development of a coordinated provincial life sciences strategy, which will provide a crucial roadmap for life sciences innovation in Ontario and Canada, now, and in years to come.
