Anne Woods is managing director of the Life Science and Healthcare practice for Silicon Valley Bank in Toronto where she is responsible for leading the bank’s efforts in this sector across Canada. In this role, she focuses on strengthening the bank’s position with leading-edge companies in Canada’s life science field.
Born and raised in Toronto, Anne began her career 25 years ago in capital markets as an analyst and steadily moved through roles of increasing responsibility including research, marketing, and client relations. In 2005, Anne transitioned into the pharmaceutical industry when she joined Sandoz (the generic division of Novartis AG). Anne then took on a management role at Novartis Pharma where she played a key role in developing, leading, and implementing the corporate long-term care and pharmacy strategy. In addition to leadership roles in pharma, Anne was a director in the Health Industry Information Services (HIIS) division at IMS Brogan. Prior to joining SVB, Anne spent 6 years as a director of the Pangaea Group where she brought insights and strategic direction to life science and healthcare clients.
Anne holds a bachelor’s degree from McGill University, where she studied biology. She received her master’s degree in leadership from the University of Guelph and is a CFA Charterholder.
