Queen’s Park Day
Our 2023 Queen’s Park Day brought together senior industry representatives and government decision-makers from various parties for in-depth policy discussions about Ontario’s thriving life sciences sector and strategies to foster its growth. Key takeaways from the meetings emphasized the importance of collaboration between the public and private sectors to:
- Keep the life sciences sector at the forefront of policy conversations.
- Position Ontario as a national and global leader in the life sciences.
- Develop a framework for rare diseases for Ontario.
We also highlighted the vibrancy of the life sciences sector through incredible stories from life sciences organizations. To learn more about these stories, please refer to our Success Stories booklet, which was distributed to event attendees.
We had the pleasure of having Hon. Victor Fedeli, Minister of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade, deliver opening remarks at our reception. Other remarkable speakers include MPP France Gélinas, Critic, Health; Member, Standing Committee on Public Accounts, Vice-Chair; Standing Committee on Social Policy, New Democratic Party of Ontario; and MPP Adil Shamji, Member, Standing Committee on Social Policy, Ontario Liberal Party. We also hosted Nina Tangri, Associate Minister of Small Business.
Some of our members — BD; Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies in Canada; Medtronic; Stryker Canada; and TeleVU — also had the opportunity to showcase some of their groundbreaking technologies.
We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who attended, and also to our corporate and event sponsors for making this possible.
