TORONTO, ON – October 21, 2024 – Life Sciences Ontario (LSO) is excited to announce this year’s scholarship recipients, honoring 18 outstanding individuals who exemplify excellence in their academic pursuits. This marks the sixth year of our scholarship program, which has awarded a total of 186 scholarships worth $578,000, providing essential financial support and mentorship to students in the life sciences sector.
“Our scholarship program is a vital initiative aimed at fostering the next generation of leaders in the life sciences,” said Jason Field, President, Life Sciences Ontario. “We are proud of this year’s recipients and their commitment to making a difference. Our gratitude goes to our generous sponsors, whose support plays a crucial role in empowering students and increasing awareness of the life sciences sector in Ontario.”
The purpose of the scholarship program along with the financial support and mentorship piece is to increase awareness of the life sciences sector in Ontario as a significant employer for new graduates, a key driver of the provincial economy, and an innovative and diverse industry that is engaged with the community.
