I want to participate in the development of the scientific culture of young people and the general public in Quebec so that Quebec positions itself as a leader to meet the major challenges of the decades to come. I believe this goal can be achieved by helping people to develop a greater sense of competence and empowering them with scientific knowledge, through various opportunities to marvel at the universe, planet, nature, and humans. This can be accomplished through innovative practices in science education and communication, and by harnessing individual strengths through best practices in equity, inclusion, and diversity.

I want to participate in the development of the scientific culture of children, teenagers, and every Quebecer so that they position themselves as leaders in meeting the major challenges of the coming decades. I believe this can be achieved by helping people to develop a greater sense of competence and by allowing them to appropriate scientific knowledge, through diverse opportunities to marvel at the universe. I focus on innovative and inclusive education and outreach initiatives, that aim to reach everyone.

Let's Talk Science

Today we’ll be working on a solution for temperature control by using household items to create containers that can keep an ice cube frozen!

Diana Shumeyko  - Diana is going into her third year at McGill University where she is majoring in computer science. When she finishes her degree, she hopes to pursue a career in cyber security or business consulting.

Shelby Law  - Shelby is a queer, non-binary (they/them) educator-to-be. After completing their undergrad in Wildlife Conservation and Biology at the University of Guelph, Shelby studied the interaction between plants and mycorrhizal fungi as part of their Master’s of Science in Ecology. Their background in visual arts obtained prior to delving into the STEM world is leading them to become biology and visual arts teacher.
