Jessica Chutter, Morgan Stanley

Jessica Chutter is vice chair and chair of biotechnology investment banking at Morgan Stanley. For more than 30 years, Jessica's career has focused on building Morgan Stanley’s biotechnology portfolio, and has been responsible for raising $70 billion of capital and $85 billion of strategic transactions. Jessica is focused on company building, including raising $3 billion for Moderna, $2.4 billion for GW and $2.2 billion for BeiGene. Jessica has also led 18 IPOs totalling approximately $4 billion, including those for Canadian-based Repare Therapeutics and Fusion Pharmaceuticals.

 

 

Brigitte Nolet, Roche Canada

Brigitte is president and CEO of Roche Canada Pharma. Since 2006, she has held a number of leadership roles within Roche, both at the local and global level. Currently, Brigitte leads a diverse team of more than 1,500 employees from Roche’s Canadian pharmaceutical headquarters in Mississauga.

 

 

NEHA KHERA, 2048 Ventures

Neha is a general partner at 2048 Ventures, and has been an early-stage investor for nearly a decade. Prior to 2048 Ventures, Neha was a partner at 500 Startups and invested in over 40 startups from around the globe.

 

 

Mara Lederman, Signal 1

Mara is co-founder and COO of Signal 1, a Canadian health startup that provides hospitals with an enterprise-wide AI platform that monitors patients from admission through discharge.

 

 

Frank Rudzicz, Dalhousie University; Vector Institute for Artificial Intelligence

Frank is an associate professor of computer science at Dalhousie University, co-founder of WinterLight Labs Inc., faculty member at the Vector Institute, inaugural chair of the Standards Council of Canada’s subcommittee on artificial intelligence, and CIFAR chair in artificial intelligence. His work is in machine learning in healthcare, especially in natural language processing, speech recognition and surgical safety.
